Summary:
Prepares dry and liquid mix/spice assembly batches per Company formula batch sheet as required by daily production schedule.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Understands how to read Company formula batch sheet and the importance of following them exactly at all times.
Understands proper scale usage and scaling procedures as they apply to the function of this job.
Completes all floor and batch control paperwork legibly and on time.
Understands Company procedures for cross-checking and properly documenting ingredient ID numbers and the critical importance of adhering to these procedures.
Is able to locate and retrieve low volume usage ingredients from warehouse locations as needed and returns unused/unneeded quantities immediately when no longer required.
Is knowledgeable of daily spice room and mixing room floor routines for set-up, start-up, and/or shut down and performs each as the need for them applies.
Prepares ingredient portions in manner that is organized and efficient while meeting reasonable standards for output over the course of the shift/day.
Delivers pre-staged batch quantities in a timely manner to facilitate continuous final batch preparation processes.
Assists with preparation and execution of slurry batch making process as assigned.
Performs all tasks and functions of the job in safe a manner that upholds Company standards for product quality.
Work all regular and overtime scheduled shifts.
Attends Company sponsored training and informational meetings when scheduled.
All other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience in food manufacturing preferred.
Competencies:
Ability to do math conversions of decimals and percentages.
Must be able to work in a team environment and have a positive attitude.
Must have good written and oral communication skills.
Experience working with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) preferred.
Experience with quality and hygiene requirements common in food manufacturing preferred.
Experience working in a production environment with food or other FDA regulated products preferred.
Work Environment:
Frequently exposed to airborne powders, i.
e.
; flours, meals, etc.
Occasionally exposed to hazards in a manufacturing environment not limited to, physical or chemical.
Loud working environment.
Physical Demands:
Required to stand for the duration of the production shift.
Ascend and descend safety ladders, cross-over ladders, etc.
throughout the shift.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds at or above shoulder level.
